About Diane "the Iron Maverick" Carroll

An independent for more than 20 years, Diane has founded three businesses, including a mergers and acquisitions company and Associates Business Services, a firm that provided consulting in accounting, business growth and startups. With experience in founding and operating several companies and actively studying the development of independents, she understood the struggles that come with entrepreneurship.

Recognizing a need for independence and entrepreneurial training, Carroll founded Maverick Center LLC in 1999. After going through her own trials and tribulations and helping other independent business owners through theirs, she developed a unique system which she calls Mavricking™. Her expertise in independence and business design — whereby she helps clients create, refine, and put their individual plans into action — is in high demand by students, parents, entrepreneurs, and others looking to create a satisfying and well-balanced design for their lives and businesses.

Carroll’s latest ventures have been dedicated to promoting the entrepreneurial spirit. In 2002, she helped form E!Club, a community-service venture held at St. Edward’s University designed to promote entrepreneurial spirit and culture in Austin. Furthermore, she co-authored a best-selling book, Create the Business Breakthrough You Want: Secrets and Strategies from the World’s Greatest Mentors (2004), which has been endorsed by Dr. Stephen R. Covey, author of T he 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and Ken Blanchard, co-author of The One-Minute Manager.

Carroll lives and works in Austin, TX, and is very active in the community. She is a veteran speaker and teacher as well as an active member of FLOW, Wisdom at Work, the Central Texas World Future Society, and the Rotary Club of Austin.
